As It Was In Noah’s Day

AS IT WAS IN NOAH’S DAY

2nd installment

Matthew 24:37-44, “But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 40Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. 41Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. 42Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Master is coming. 43But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. 44Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”

We’ve written before about the comparison between Noah’s day and our own, in regards to the depravity and immorality of our day being the same as in Noah’s day, but Yeshua sure said a mouthful in just a few sentences. A few more ideas from the deep mind of Yeshua, His coming is going to be like the days of Noah’s flood. The worldly people did not know what was about to happen to them. The rebellious lost of Noah’s day were the ones taken away. Notice in the verses above that Yeshua states clearly that it is the lost who are taken away in the days of His Second Coming. Noah and his family did not get raptured. He, his family, and the ark were lifted up towards heaven, but they did not escape the judgment of the earth. They went through the Flood experience, just like we will go through the last days judgment experience. Yahweh’s judgment is good for Yahweh’s people. He cleans out the trash from His temple. Our body was created to be the tabernacle of Yahweh. He gets rid of the evil, so only the righteous remain. Judgment Day is a Temple body cleansing experience we want and need. There is nothing to fear about Judgment Day, sin and evil gets incinerated, we get a new incorruptible body. So what’s wrong with that? We long for this day, we look forward to this day. We will soon marry our King! Yahweh is angry over sin and is headed toward His goal of cleansing the earth of sin once and for all time.

Noah’s journey in the ark was somewhat short-lived. It was a temporary boating trip around the Middle East. As I continue to study Bible chronology, Yahweh keeps revealing secrets about time, hidden beneath the surface of Scripture. I recently learned that the Scriptures follow a strictly Lunar calendar that has 354 days in one “year”, totally oblivious to solar years or seasons. 12 lunations of 29.530589 days each makes up a 354-day biblical year. Since we cannot have a one half sunrise or one half sunset, a true biblical calendar would look like this: month one has 30 days, month two has 29 days, month three has 30 days, etc. alternating throughout the year. So what you say? Well, hang in there with me. One other vitally important point to know about biblical calendars and dates used in the Scriptures is that it speaks in terms of completed days or years. For instance, in Genesis 5 we see the ages of the early patriarchs at the birth of their son through whom the Redeemer would come. Adding up these years plus the known fact that Noah was 600 years old during the Flood, we come to a total of 1656 years. But since Noah had lived 600 years and therefore was 600 years old, the 1656 years tallied here is 1656 completed years, therefore the Flood occurred AFTER the 1656 years were complete, or in the lunar biblical year of 1657 from Adam’s creation. So what you say? Well, please bear with me.

Genesis 7:11 states, “In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.” Genesis 8:4 states, “Then the ark rested in the seventh month, the seventeenth day of the month, on the mountains of Ararat.” Now, taking a strictly lunar calendar and counting up these days from the second month to the seventh month, we come to a total days of rain and floating around the Middle East of 147 days, calculated thusly:

2nd month = 13 days (17th through the 29th inclusively, or completed)

3rd month = 30 days

4th month = 29 days

5th month = 30 days

6th month = 29 days

7th month = 16 days inclusively or completed, before the 17th when Noah landed on the rock. So what you say? Well, hold on to your seat. The Holy Spirit inspired Moses to record in Genesis 7:24, “And the waters prevailed on the earth one hundred and fifty days.” And again in Genesis 8:3, “And the waters receded continually from the earth. At the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters decreased.” Remember, Yahweh speaks in terms of completed, or inclusive days. But, 150 days does not equal 147 days, or does it? It does if you round up the 29.530589-day lunar month to a standard 30-day month! So what you say?

Well, what did Yeshua say several times in Matthew 24? Verse 42, “Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour (day) your Master is coming.” Verse 44, “Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.” (If you read verses 32-36 carefully, you will see that Yeshua is speaking of not knowing when Father will torch the heavens and earth at the end of the 1,000 year earthly reign, not about His Second Coming.) But why won’t we know when He’s coming? Well, may I propose to you that we won’t know because end-time prophecy lovers, like myself, will be counting 1260, 1290, 1335 days, and time, times and a half, and 42 months according to our old understanding, assuming Yahweh has changed a calendar to a 360-day year calendar. Our mistake is NOT KNOWING that all He has done is round up days from a 354-day calendar, just as He did in Noah’s day!! You see, 1260 days on a 360-day calendar, which the Bible never used, is exactly 3 ½ years! But on a strictly lunar 354-day/year calendar, it’s still exactly 3 ½ years, but it’s only 1239 days, calculated thusly: 354/2 = 177 + 354 + 354 + 354 = 1239 days. No wonder we won’t know when He’s coming back, even if we knew when to begin counting, we still would be expecting Him on the 1260, 1290, or 1335th day, instead of 1239, 1269, or 1335th day!! Yahweh may simply have coded the end times from a 354-day calendar to look like a 360-day calendar, which was the calendar used in Daniel’s servanthood days in Babylon and Persia. Either way, He’s coming back soon, so get ready. There is still more mystery hidden in the 1335 days, but maybe we can look at that again later.

Noah floated around the Middle East for five months, while Yahweh judged the earth and punished wicked men. Where else do we read about 5 months of punishment in the Scriptures? At the end of time of course, in Revelation 9:5 & 10, “And they were not given authority to kill them, but to torment them for five months. Their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it strikes a man. . . 10They had tails like scorpions, and there were stings in their tails. Their power was to hurt men five months.” Was Yeshua a prophet? Yeah, and more than a prophet.

Another point about our day being like in the days of Noah, Noah and his family were the only ones that survived. Genesis 7:23, “So He destroyed all living things which were on the face of the ground: both man and cattle, creeping thing and bird of the air. They were destroyed from the earth. Only Noah and those who were with him in the ark remained alive.” Noah and his family were the remnant, a type of the remnant church at the end of time. Noah and his family were taken to a place of safety during Yahweh’s time of judgment upon the earth. He didn’t leave earth, but he was protected. The church will not leave the earth in a rapture, but we will also be protected. Noah was our example. Trust Yahweh to see you through what’s coming on this evil world. Revelation 12:6, “Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by Yahweh, that they should feed her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days.” Now, is that for 1260 days on a calendar from mystery Babylon, or is it really only 1239 days from the true biblical calendar? Hmm. Let’s allow Yeshua to answer that question for us, Matthew 24:22, “And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.” Well, now you know another way in which Yahweh can shorten time. He’s on His own calendar, like I’ve always stated, and by following His 354-day/year biblical calendar, He can shorten days on our calendar, without a planetary fly-by. It’s a miracle. Yahweh’s mysteries of the Kingdom are being revealed, so stay tuned.

Watching and praying,
