FEAST OF WEEKS – SHAVUOT – PENTECOST – 2014 AD

FEAST OF WEEKS – SHAVUOT – PENTECOST – 2014 AD

Shavuot, or Feast of Weeks, or Pentecost is taught initially in Leviticus 23:9-21 HRB “And YAHWEH spoke to Moses, saying, 10Speak to the sons of Israel, and you shall say to them, When you come in to the land which I am giving to you, and have reaped its harvest, and have brought in the Omer (a sheaf of barley), of the beginning of your harvest, to the priest, 11then he shall wave the Omer (sheaf of barley) before YAHWEH for your acceptance; on the morrow of the Sabbath (we will show this has to be the day after the weekly Sabbath) the priest shall wave it. 12And you shall prepare a lamb in the day you wave the Omer, one without blemish, a son of a year, for a burnt offering to YAHWEH. 13And its food offering shall be two tenths part of flour mixed with oil, a fire offering to YAHWEH, a sweet fragrance; and its drink offering, a fourth of a hin of wine. 14And you shall not eat bread, nor roasted grain, nor fresh ears, until this same day, until you have brought the offering of your Elohim (Divine Ones, the Godhead); it is a never ending statute throughout your generations in all your dwellings. 15And you shall number to you from the next day after the Sabbath, from the day you bring in the sheaf of the wave offering; they shall be seven complete Sabbaths; 16to the next day after the seventh Sabbath, you shall number fifty days; and you shall bring near a new food offering to YAHWEH; 17you shall bring in bread out of your dwellings for a wave offering, two loaves; they shall be of two tenth ephah of flour; they shall be baked with leaven; first-fruits to YAHWEH 18And besides the bread, you shall offer seven lambs, without blemish, sons of a year, and one bull, a son of the herd, and two rams; they are a burnt offering to YAHWEH, with their food offering and their drink offerings, a fire offering of soothing fragrance to YAHWEH. 19And you shall offer one he-goat for a sin offering, and two lambs, sons of a year, for a sacrifice of peace offerings. 20And the priest shall wave them, besides the bread of the first-fruits, a wave offering before YAHWEH, besides the two lambs; they are holy to YAHWEH for the priest. 21And you shall make a proclamation on this same day; it is a holy gathering to you. You shall do no laborious work of service. It is a never ending statute in all your dwellings throughout your generations.”

Since there are only two high holy assembly days during Passover as taught in verses 6-8, the first and last days, the 15th and the 21st, verses 15 and 16 of Leviticus CANNOT be speaking of high holy days during Passover, but of SEVEN weekly Sabbaths!! For the Day of Pentecost/Shavuot to occur on the DAY AFTER the seventh Sabbath, you ALWAYS MUST BEGIN THE 50-DAY COUNT ON THE DAY AFTER THE WEEKLY SABBATH THAT OCCURS DURING UNLEAVENED BREAD. Verse 16 clearly and literally teaches that the Day of Pentecost/Shavuot ALWAYS OCCURS ON A SUNDAY!! Because that is true, then verse 11 MUST TEACH that the wave sheaf offering, or Feast of Firstfruits, or Resurrection Day celebration, MUST ALWAYS OCCUR on a Sunday!

The Hebrews life revolves around Shabbat/Sabbath. Yahweh built this beautiful Feast of Weeks right into our lifestyle!!

The high holy convocation days of the first and last days of Unleavened Bread are not necessarily Sabbath days, unless one of them happens to fall on the weekly Sabbath.

Because of the Law of first mention, Deuteronomy 16:9-10 CANNOT OVERRULE Leviticus 23 teaching, it can only confirm, uphold, or enhance it, Deuteronomy 16:9-10 HRB “You shall number to yourself seven weeks (shabuas/Sabbath weeks, Strong’s # 7620). When the sickle begins to reap in the standing grain, you shall begin to number seven weeks. 10And you shall keep the Feast of Weeks to YAHWEH your Elohim according to the measure of the freewill offering of your hand, which you shall give according as YAHWEH your Elohim blesses you.” In Israel, the grain that is ripening for harvest during the week of Unleavened Bread is barley grain. Deuteronomy 16 makes sure the Hebrews understand that Yahweh is talking about the barley grain harvest, not just any produce. The sickle was used on standing grain. Unleavened Bread should be baked with barley flour!!

Notice, Leviticus 23:11 is speaking of a wave sheaf offering on the Day of Firstfruits, always a Sunday, and verse 17 speaks of two loaves of bread wave offering to take place on the Day of Pentecost, 50 days later. The Feasts and offerings of Passover through Pentecost are pictures and teachings about Messiah Yahshua, His death, burial, resurrection, ascension, and pouring out of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost!! The Holy Spirit is the One Who brings the two loaves of Judah and Israel (Ephraim/Manasseh) back together again in Him! The two loaves wave offering can also represent the Jews and Gentiles becoming the one new man in Messiah, accomplished by the Holy Spirit.

Many saints resurrected around the time of Yahshua’s resurrection. Yahshua may have taken these saints into the heavenly throne room to present to our Father as a real Firstfruits offering!! That is what the sheaf of barley wave offering represents! From one Seed (Yahshua) came many grains of fruit, the saints!

The verse 16 Day of Pentecost, day 50, can always only occur on a Sunday, per the clear plain literal teaching of verse 16, if you ALWAYS only begin your Omer count on a Sunday, the day after the weekly Sabbath that occurs during the week of Unleavened Bread. These Scriptures CANNOT be fulfilled properly any other way. With that said, the Day of Pentecost, 2014 AD, will be on Sunday, June 8th, which we know begins at sundown on Saturday, June 7th. Today’s Sabbath, May 24, is the 5th Sabbath in the 7-Sabbath Omer count.

How do we know all this? Because the New Moon that began this current religious year occurred on March 30th. 14 days later, Passover began at sundown, April 12, just after the weekly Sabbath closed. Therefore, the high holy convocation day of Abib 15, began at sundown on April 13, a Sunday night. Therefore, the Sabbath that occurred during the Week of Unleavened Bread occurred on April 18/19th Friday/Saturday. Abib 21, the 7th day and high holy convocation day of Unleavened Bread, then began on Saturday night of the 19th/ ending on Sunday day of April 20th, the Day of First Fruits, the sheaf of barley wave offering day, and the FIRST DAY of the 50 day Omer count to Shavuot, to occur on June 8th. Therefore, 1st Sabbath = April 26; 2nd Sabbath = May 3rd; 3rd Sabbath = May 10th; 4th Sabbath = May 17th; 5th Sabbath = May 24th; 6th Sabbath = May 31st; 7th Sabbath = June 7th. Day of Pentecost = Sunday, June 8th!! Bake your two loaves of wheat bread and wave em! The wheat harvest is what is occurring around the Day of Pentecost!!
