Howdy, today we take a look at some of Isaiah 40, beginning with verses 1-2, ““Comfort, yes, comfort My people!” Says your Mighty One. 2“Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, that her warfare is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned; for she has received from Yahweh’s hand double for all her sins.”” Israel has already been judged for her rebellion, both the northern and the southern kingdoms were destroyed centuries ago. Isaiah says Jerusalem’s warfare is ended. Now, Yahweh will fight for Israel. Even the USA may fight Iran for Israel, according to Daniel 8, that is what it looks like in prophecy. I’m sure Israel will fight to defend herself, but she won’t be alone in the fight.
Verses 3-9 are telling Israel to get ready to meet their Mighty One, Yahweh Himself, manifested as Messiah Yeshua, soon to return as King of kings and Lord of lords.
In verses 10-14, Yahweh is letting us know that He is the only one with real wisdom and understanding. He is exalted far above His creation.
Look what Yahweh has to say about the nations of this world in verses 15-17, “Behold, the nations are as a drop in a bucket, and are counted as the small dust on the scales; look, He lifts up the isles as a very little thing. 16And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor its beasts sufficient for a burnt offering. 17All nations before Him are as nothing, and they are counted by Him less than nothing and worthless.” Folks, the globalist nations of this world may think they are smart and may be rich, but compared to Yahweh, they are less than nothing. Yahweh is going to allow the One World Order to spread its wings and fly for one hour, but then He is going to severely judge the nations of this world. You just don’t mess with the sheep of Yahweh’s pasture and get away with it for very long. Yahweh will judge the world, He will pour out His wrath on the wicked, He will lock up Satan himself for a thousand years until the final White Throne judgment. You can mock Him is you so choose, but He will crush you in the end.
Verses 18-24, “To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare to Him? 19The workman molds an image, the goldsmith overspreads it with gold, and the silversmith casts silver chains. 20Whoever is too impoverished for such a contribution chooses a tree that will not rot; he seeks for himself a skillful workman to prepare a carved image that will not totter. 21Have you not known? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth? 22It is He who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in. 23He brings the princes to nothing; he makes the judges of the earth useless. 24Scarcely shall they be planted, scarcely shall they be sown, scarcely shall their stock take root in the earth, when He will also blow on them, and they will wither, and the whirlwind will take them away like stubble.” I hope you realize that earth’s gold and silver is simply heaven’s asphalt. Man’s precious metals are but Yahweh’s road dirt. As John the Revelator explains about the New Jerusalem that comes down from Heaven in Rev. 21:21b, “And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.” We all need to repent and walk humbly with Yahweh. If princes and judges are nothing and useless, what are we? We are just His unprofitable servants. Luke 17:10, “So likewise you, when you have done all those things which you are commanded, say, ‘We are unprofitable servants. We have done what was our duty to do.’” No matter how obedient, how righteous, how religious, how passionate we are for Yahweh and the Kingdom, we are not Him, we are and always will be His servants, adopted as sons, but still His servants.
Verses 25-31, “To whom then will you liken Me, or to whom shall I be equal?” says the Holy One. 26Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created these things, Who brings out their host by number; He calls them all by name, by the greatness of His might and the strength of His power; not one is missing. 27Why do you say, O Jacob, and speak, O Israel: “My way is hidden from Yahweh, and my just claim is passed over by my Mighty One”? 28Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting Mighty One, Yahweh, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. 29He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. 30Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, 31But those who wait on Yahweh shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”
Yeah, go ahead, google His undertanding. Even if you knew all the world’s knowledge, which is doubling just about every year now, you would still not be able to fully comprehend Him. No search engine will ever be able to help you fully understand Him and His ways. You must humbly walk with Him and obey Him and then walk in the beautiful light He gives to you. Our technology is also nothing before Him, but you can find some pretty cool websites about Yahweh. Search and ye shall find.
John 7:37b-38, “Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.””
