The People Do Not Turn
In today’s blog post we will answer one simple question, “Why is Yahweh still angry?”
Isaiah 9, “Nevertheless the gloom will not be upon her who is distressed,
As when at first He lightly esteemed
The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali,
And afterward more heavily oppressed her,
By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan,
In Galilee of the Gentiles.
2 The people who walked in darkness
Have seen a great light;
Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death,
Upon them a light has shined.
3 You have multiplied the nation
And increased its joy;
They rejoice before You
According to the joy of harvest,
As men rejoice when they divide the spoil.
4 For You have broken the yoke of his burden
And the staff of his shoulder,
The rod of his oppressor,
As in the day of Midian.
5 For every warrior’s sandal from the noisy battle,
And garments rolled in blood,
Will be used for burning and fuel of fire.
6 For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son (Yeshua) is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Almighty Mighty One,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of His government and peace
There will be no end,
Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom,
To order it and establish it with judgment and justice
From that time forward, even forever.
The zeal of Yahweh of hosts will perform this.
8 Yahweh sent a word against Jacob,
And it has fallen on Israel.
9 All the people will know—
Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria—
Who say in pride and arrogance of heart:
10 “The bricks have fallen down,
But we will rebuild with hewn stones;
The sycamores are cut down,
But we will replace them with cedars.”
11 Therefore Yahweh shall set up
The adversaries of Rezin against him,
And spur his enemies on,
12 The Syrians (backed by Iran of course) before and the Philistines (Palestinians) behind;
And they shall devour Israel with an open mouth.
For all this His anger is not turned away,
But His hand is stretched out still.
13 For the people do not turn to Him who strikes them,
Nor do they seek Yahweh of hosts.
14 Therefore Yahweh will cut off head (honorable elders) and (false prophets) tail from Israel,
Palm branch and bulrush in one day.
15 The elder and honorable, he is the head;
The prophet who teaches lies, he is the tail.
16 For the leaders of this people (American, British, Israeli) cause them to err,
And those who are led by them are destroyed.
17 Therefore Yahweh will have no joy in their young men,
Nor have mercy on their fatherless and widows;
For everyone is a hypocrite and an evildoer,
And every mouth speaks folly.
For all this His anger is not turned away,
But His hand is stretched out still.
18 For wickedness burns as the fire;
It shall devour the briers and thorns,
And kindle in the thickets of the forest;
They shall mount up like rising smoke.
19 Through the wrath of Yahweh of hosts
The land is burned up,
And the people shall be as fuel for the fire;
No man shall spare his brother.
20 And he shall snatch on the right hand
And be hungry;
He shall devour on the left hand
And not be satisfied;
Every man shall eat the flesh of his own arm. (See, I told you famines are coming.)
21 Manasseh (America) shall devour Ephraim (Great Britain), and Ephraim (Great Britain) Manasseh (America);
Together they shall be against Judah (modern State of Israel).
For all this His anger is not turned away,
But His hand is stretched out still.”
Why is Yahweh still angry? Verses 6 and 7 above show us that Yahweh has already given us His only begotten son Yeshua. If Yahweh has already provided us our Savior and Redeemer, Yeshua HaMashiach, and Yeshua Himself has already lain His life down for us on His execution stake to save us from our sin, why is Yahweh still angry? This salvation is offered freely to you, dear sinner, but you must do something in return in order to receive this freely offered salvation. Contrary to popular belief, this salvation is not free; it cost Yahweh everything to give you His own Son, and it will cost you everything to follow His Son in discipleship. Eternal salvation after you die physically may appear as a free gift, but to follow Yeshua in discipleship while in this sinful flesh is all about COST to you. Laying down your self life and taking up your cross daily is nothing but COST. . .to you. Sinner, you must turn from your wicked ways and turn to Yeshua in faith and trust Him to see you through life.
Look at verses 8 through 12 above, even if modern Israel brings home all the known Jewish priests from around the world and rebuilds an altar and/or temple in Jerusalem and begin again all the old Mosaic sacrifices, will Yahweh be happy? No. Even if all the Muslim terrorists destroy all of Israel for their rebellion, will Yahweh be happy? No. What makes Yahweh happy? Read verse 13 again, “For the people do not turn to Him who strikes them, nor do they seek Yahweh of hosts.” Yahweh wants us to turn to Him, to seek Him and His kingdom, to listen to Him, to follow Him, to love Him, to worship Him. Do the nations of the world, especially Yahweh’s so-called nations of America, Great Britain, and modern Israel, do that? For the most part, no. Yahweh speaks a word against Israel, America, and Great Britain, the people DO NOT TURN TO HIM, even when He spanks us or disciplines us. What is there in America, Britain, or Israel that pleases Yahweh? Sure, we have brilliant scientists, doctors, teachers, engineers, etc., who do great things, but a lost scientist or doctor is still LOST! An unconverted man does not please Yahweh. An obstinate heart does not please Yahweh, rebellion brings His anger and wrath. That has not changed, even though Yeshua lives!
Yahweh is cutting off leadership from these nations. Why? Because the lost leaders of our nations lead us the people astray, away from Yahweh. Be not surprised to see more great preachers, teachers, rabbis, politicians, and false prophets taken out of the way in these nations. There is no such thing as a saved corporation. Corporate leaders of the world are running from Yahweh into their greed as fast as they can. What is Yahweh saying? There are no answers with man. Our leaders are leading us to destruction. It was prophesied thousands of years ago, it’s happening today.
Look at verse 17, as we turn from Yahweh, or forget Him and His law and ways, He turns from us and our children. Yahweh begins to WITHHOLD HIS MERCY from our families, and He is still angry! One thing we need in the end times is Yahweh’s mercy. How do we obtain His mercy? Throw ourselves on His altar, not our money, not our possessions, our sinful selves. Yahweh wants YOU, not what you think you can give Him. He doesn’t need our stuff, but He wants us.
Why will people be throwing their gold and silver into the streets in the end times? Because they can’t eat their stuff! Your iphone is a nice gadget, but you can’t eat it. It may be a smart phone, but it’s dumb food. Idols are poor saviors. Look at verses 18-20. Famines are rapidly coming upon our lands. Thousands are dying of starvation in Somalia today. It’s just the beginning of sorrows. Famine is a judgment of Yahweh, it is one way He pours out His wrath. Only intercession and repentance on our part can stop the judgment hand of Yahweh.
Now we come to verse 21, the hardest word in chapter 9 of Isaiah. As America and Great Britain devour each other and then turn against our brother Judah, modern Israel, watch Yahweh’s outstretched arm of judgment against our nations. As we’ve posted several times before, man has no authority to divide Yahweh’s promised land of Israel. If America and Great Britain take a stand against Israel in the UN when it comes time to vote on a Palestinian State, watch out, we’re done. Over the last few decades, Yahweh has warned us over and over with hurricanes, earthquakes and tornadoes and other disasters, each time we took a stand against Israel. It’s a fatal mistake. We MUST bless Israel in order to be blessed by Yahweh. If our leaders are so stupid as to turn our nations away from Israel and Israel’s Mighty One, we are doomed. There is no pretty way to say it, we’re finished.
Our economy is just one area in which Yahweh is humbling us. Do you know any individual or corporation willing to take their 3 million dollars per minute PROFIT and pump it into the U.S. Government, just to pay the INCREASE in our national debt? That’s how fast we are INCREASING our national debt, $3 million per minute! You have to sell a LOT of Chinese junk at Walmart to make that kind of profit. Maybe big oil and wall street bankers make that rate of profit, but are they going to give it to you and your U.S. Government just to pay national debt? I doubt it. Big businesses have their hands out, just like the people. When you see a man show up who has the solution to the world’s ills, look out, he will be the Anti-messiah!
Why is Yahweh still angry with humans? because the people do not turn from their sin and turn to Him in repentance and faith in Yeshua. How many of us can say, though He destroys my life, yet I will trust Him? Yeshua continues to give us only one sign of Jonah, REPENT, repent, repent! But I think He’s getting tired of saying it.
