The Third Sinner
(All Scripture will be quoted from the Unlocked Literal Bible – Sacred Name Version.)
You know the story, Cain was a farmer, Abel was a shepherd. Yahweh accepted Abel’s offering, but not Cain’s, because Cain did not bring the firstfruits of his field to Yahweh. Cain became angry and scowled at Yahweh. Just before Cain killed his younger brother Abel, Yahweh spoke these words to him: Genesis 4:7, “If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin crouches at the door and desires to control you, but you must rule over it.” (See also Romans 6:1-14) Yahweh told Cain to rule over sin, not to let sin rule over him. Well, he chose not to do that, so he killed his brother, Abel.
Why did Cain not rule over the sin that was inside him? Because he did not have the Holy Spirit of Yahweh residing inside of him. Cain did not honor Yahweh, respect Yahweh, or worship Yahweh properly. Neither did he ask Yahweh how to rule over sin, nor did he ask for the Holy Spirit to help him rule over sin. Cain did not seek Yahweh or His Kingdom first!! What did the Apostle Paul say along these lines? Ephesians 5:18, “And do not get drunk with wine, for that leads to reckless behavior. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit,” Why does the Apostle Paul declare we need to be filled with the Holy Spirit? Because the Holy Spirit produces righteous fruit in our spirit, deep in our new nature. Read all of Galatians 5:16-25, but note verses 22-23, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, 23 gentleness, and self-control; against such things there is no law.”
The Holy Spirit in us is the power in us to overcome sin in our lives. He is our power Teacher who teaches us to live righteously by teaching us to just say no to sin and yes to Yahweh, His commands, and His kingdom of righteousness. We say yes to crucifying the sinful nature and He gladly crucifies us in the Spirit. He leads us in Yahweh’s path of righteousness. He is the power in us to resist the devil’s temptations. Read all of James 4:1-12, but note verse 7, “So submit to Yahweh. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
Just so you know, Sunday, June 4, 2017, is the Feast of Shavuot, or Feast of Pentecost. It goes from sundown Saturday night through sundown Sunday. We’ve been counting off 7 Sabbaths towards this wonderful feast. We’re going to celebrate the giving of the Torah on Mt. Sinai in Arabia, and the giving of the Holy Spirit, 50 days after Yeshua’s resurrection!! Read Acts 2. Pentecost is the perfect time to submit to Yahweh, resist the devil, and ask the Father to fill you with His precious Holy Spirit! If you’ve never been filled before this is a great time to be baptized in the Holy Spirit and begin speaking in tongues. If the Holy Spirit already resides in you, ask Him to fill you up again! We need a new filling every day!! You don’t have to wait for the Feast of Pentecost to come around each year, be filled with the Holy Spirit right now!
